Gonda: Gonda Police maintained strict security and law-and-order arrangements across the district during Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) celebrations, ensuring that prayers and festivities concluded peacefully and in a harmonious atmosphere.
Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal, along with Additional Superintendent of Police (East) Ajit Kumar Rajak and a large police force, remained on continuous patrol in sensitive areas of the city on Thursday. Senior officers conducted foot patrols and inspected various mosques, Eidgahs and crowded public places to review security arrangements and maintain public confidence.
During the visits, police officials interacted with religious leaders, worshippers, local residents and commuters, appealing to citizens to celebrate the festival with mutual harmony and brotherhood.
Police personnel deployed across the district remained on high alert throughout the day. Senior officers also issued necessary instructions to ensure smooth traffic movement and effective crowd management around major prayer locations.
Authorities deployed heavy police and PAC forces at sensitive points, while Quick Response Teams (QRTs) continuously monitored vulnerable areas. The Local Intelligence Unit also remained active throughout the celebrations to keep track of any suspicious activity.

Joint teams of plainclothes personnel and women police officers were deployed in busy and mixed-population areas. Surveillance was strengthened through CCTV cameras and drone monitoring to ensure strict vigilance across the city.
The police administration also closely monitored social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp groups, to prevent the spread of rumours, misleading videos or objectionable content that could disturb communal harmony. Officials warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found circulating provocative material online.
Under the directions of the Superintendent of Police, all gazetted officers, station in-charges and inspectors supervised arrangements in their respective police station areas, ensuring that Eid prayers at mosques and Eidgahs concluded safely and without any untoward incident.
Among those present during the security review were Circle Officer City Anand Kumar Rai, Kotwali Nagar Inspector and several police officials and personnel.
